While I was scrolling through my Instagram feed I saw Zostel posting new photos about Zostel Kathmandu. I ignored it and scrolled down. A few days later I saw the Dr. Strange movie again as the latest movie was out in theatres. After a day I got a mail saying sale on flight tickets starting from July. I was curious I started browsing for flight tickets. I ended up looking for flights to Kathmandu. And that was it I thought.
After a few days, I again got a text message your flight for Kathmandu is all set to click on the link. I read that in the morning. It got me thinking all day should I go for a trip to Kathmandu or not. I calculated my odds. Squeezed out an amount from my budget. The next thing I knew was that I had booked tickets to and fro to Kathmandu. Which compelled me to read and watch videos about the journey and the places here. For my readers today I came back from Nepal.
I wanted a solo trip for a long time and I didn't inform my friend also regarding this sudden trip. I hope they understand. Because I couldn't understand the rationale behind this hasty decision. I was in a preview that my decision is not directly influenced by social media. That I decided on my life and the things I do with it. But this trip was a direct hit on my self-awareness.
I intend to use these three words to verify my spending from now on. Prioritize items based on your wish, want, and need. Things in need can be purchased. Take a day or more to think about your wants. Let the wish last for one or more months.
